Wimbledon 2022: Lawyer Ania Palus identified as ‘drunk’ woman who Nick Kyrgios complained had ‘700 drinks’

The woman who was kicked out of the Wimbledon stands after Nick Kyrgios complained she’d had “700 drinks” has been identified as a Polish lawyer, who claimed she’d only had two. The Sun reports 32-year-old Ania Palus was the woman who was booted out of the men’s single final on Sunday night for apparently trying to chat to the Aussie while he faced off against Novak Djokovic. In a now-infamous outburst, Kyrgios asked the umpire to intervene after claiming the woman was “drunk out of her mind” and speaking to him on the court. “Kick her out. I know exactly which one it is. The one in the dress, who looks like she’s had about 700 drinks bro,” he fumed. “She’s distracting me when I’m serving in a Wimbledon final. There’s no other bigger occasion, you didn’t believe me and then she did it again and nearly cost me the game.” But the woman told The Sun she had only had a Pimms and a glass of rose and was trying to encourage Kyrgios, who had complained the fans were often against him. She claimed the sweltering temperatures, which hit the 30s in London on Sunday, were partly to blame for her behaviour. “It’s the temperature for me, I had no hat...I’m really sorry,” she said. The woman was given water by Wimbledon staff before being allowed back in the stands for the rest of the match. Kyrgios received a code violation for losing his cool over the fan. His outburst, in full view of Duchess Kate and her son Prince George, went viral on social media, with many fans laughing at his antics. Even Piers Morgan weighed in on the spat. “Kyrgios has stopped blaming his own Player’s Box supporters and is now blaming a woman spectator ‘who’s had like 700 drinks bro’ for distracting him,” he wrote on Twitter.
