WAFL 2025: Sandover medallist Hamish Brayshaw among six East Perth players to miss final home-and-away game

Sandover medallist Hamish Brayshaw is one of six players sidelined for East Perth’s final home-and-away clash against Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium on Saturday. The Tigers and Royals meet just a week before they will almost certainly clash in a crucial qualifying final at the same venue. Claremont sealed second spot last week, while East Perth sit a win and more than 22 per cent ahead of East Fremantle in third spot ahead of the final round. East Perth are taking no risks, giving Brayshaw (quad), Christian Ameduri (groin), Angus Scott (knee), Stan Wright (hamstring), Harrison Macreadie (back) and Jonah Brooks (ankle) the week off to deal with niggling injuries. It has opened the door for Coby Burgiel, Shayne Hille and Jayden Peak to fight for spots in the finals, while Brody Delaney, Darcy Miller and Jake Soutar will make their debuts. Claremont have lost star ruckman Ollie Eastland to illness, with former Brisbane listed bigman Kalin Lane to play his first league game since 2021 while Mitch Barron, Anthony Davis and skipper Declan Mountford have all been named. The Sharks have made one change for their game against West Perth at The Good Grocer Park, with Lennon Marlin replacing Chadd Dunscombe who is sidelined with concussion. The Falcons have dropped Darcy Dixon, while draft prospect Sam Swadling returns to the colts as they look to lock in a finals berth in that grade. Nate Dimanlig and Zarne Robis have been called up for their final game of the year. Perth will be hoping West Perth can cause an upset and they can beat Subiaco to leapfrog East Fremantle into fourth and secure the rights to host a home elimination final. The Demons have lost West Coast Next Generation prospect Koby Evans to a season-ending ankle injury, while Noah Cachard (ankle) and Jed Kemp (omitted) also come out of the side for Daniel Hill, James Preston-Coates and Conrad Williams. Subiaco have made five changes, bringing in Jedd Edwards, Jordan Faraone, Liam Hickmott, Judd Kelman and Travis Shearer for Jarrod Richards, Xavier Hickey, Ben Holding, Lachlan Henderson (all omitted) and Kody Eaton (soreness). Swan Districts’ injury crisis has deepened as they head down to Mandurah for their final game of the year against reigning premiers Peel Thunder. Star midfielder Jye Chalcraft will be sidelined for six months with a lisfranc injury, while Bryce Watson (ankle) and Josh Cipro (groin) are also out with injuries. Peel have regained three Fremantle-listed players in axed midfielder Nathan O’Driscoll as well as Will Brodie and Matt Johnson, but will be without Brandon Walker and Oscar McDonald. Minor premiers South Fremantle are going into their game against wooden spooners West Coast at full strength, recalling Zac Strom, Jamaine Jones and Jordan Boullineau, with Riley Colborne, Kyle Russell and Jordan Sax all omitted. The Eagles have named out-of-contract wingman Jayden Hunt, while Tyrell Dewar and Lucca Grego have been called up to the AFL team.
