West Coast Eagle Samo Petrevski-Seton reveals heart-warming stories behind striking hair-do, ‘Cowboy’ nickname

West Coast line-breaker Samo Petrevski-Seton has shared the heart-warming tale behind his extravagant new hair do. The 25-year-old may have produced his best performance in blue and gold with 20 disposals as the Eagles busted a nine-match losing run against GWS, but that wasn’t the only reason he caught the eye on Sunday. The Halls Creek product was rocking striking long, two-toned hair and he revealed the heart-warming tale behind the blonde ends, as well as taking a cheeky dig at injured teammate Nic Naitanui. “Back in the offseason, my little nieces were playing with a bit of hair dye and at the time, my hair was my natural black, brown colour, so I thought they could have a bit of fun and play with my hair,” he revealed on SEN. “So it’s done by my little niece up in Halls Creek. “It got carried away with a bit of length and a bit of curl.” The do may yet evolve, with Petrevski-Seton sharing the next step. “I’m thinking of hitting Nic Naitanui’s hairdresser up to get a bit of dreads as the next step,” he said with a laugh. The Eagles defender also discussed where his nickname “Cowboy” comes from, talking through a rich family tradition of bull riding. “The bull riding background is just a family trait that we have back up in Halls Creek,” he said. “My dad did it; his brothers did it, their uncles and fathers did it, so it runs traditionally in the family. “From a very young age, I was alongside them in the arena, and when I was old enough, I jumped on a pony calf; dad threw me on when I was probably four or five. “As I got older, it was more behind the chutes preparing, and I gradually built myself up from riding calves into bulls. “It was a heck of a little experience, but I think the adrenaline got me on doing it.”
