West Coast have named an unchanged team for Sunday’s WA Day eve encounter with an injury-ravaged Essendon at Optus Stadium.

No.4 draft pick Cooper Duff-Tytler and midfield pair Tom Gross and Clay Hall will be the three emergencies heading into the clash.

The Eagles’ stability is in contrast to the Bombers, who travel with five inclusions following a horror injury toll out of last week’s Dreamtime loss to Richmond.

Midfielders Elijah Tsatas and Will Setterfield return, along with Nik Cox, Saad El-Hawli, who has recovered from a broken collarbone, and fourth-gamer Max Kondogiannis.

Cox has been picked on the back of strong VFL form.

They replace Andrew McGrath (broken jaw), Mason Redman (knee), Sam Durham (concussion), Jye Caldwell (ankle) and Matt Guelfi (hamstring).

Gross has been mounting a strong case for a return and picked up 22 touches with seven inside-50s, four tackles and two goals last week in the WAFL. Hall had 13 disposals and a goal.

Andrew McQualter’s Eagles (3-8) will start as favourites against last-placed Essendon (1-10) and are aiming to break a five-game losing run against the Bombers and claim a fourth victory of the season.

The Eagles didn’t handle favouritism when they lost to Richmond in round eight, but competitive defeats to Melbourne and Collingwood have since sandwiched a home victory over Greater Western Sydney.

Meanwhile, the changes at Essendon keep coming after Brad Scott’s sacking as coach.

Scott allies, midfield assistant coach Ben Jacobs and psychologist Ben Robbins, both announced they were departing on Friday.

Both Jacobs and Robbins joined the Bombers in late 2022 when Scott was hired as senior coach.

Brent Stanton will assume Jacobs’ duties as midfield coach ahead of Sunday’s game against West Coast.
