Rugby star Zac Lomax has briefly traded the wing for a ring and popped the question to his long-term partner.
Lomax, tipped as a late bolter for the Wallabies at the 2027 World Cup, got down on one knee over the weekend, proposing to his police officer partner, Kayla Green.
The new bride-to-be announced the engagement on social media, describing the romantic seaside moment as “the best day”.
“The best day of my life, I can’t wait to spend forever with you,” she wrote in a bushing post on her Instagram page.
A video accompanying the post shows the Western Force star dropping down to one knee on a beach with a bespoke radiant cut diamond ring, reportedly made by celebrity jeweller Affinity Diamonds.
It is also reported that Miss Green is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
Her post has been met with a wave of wellwishers, including from fellow rugby players Bailey Simonsson, Jordan Samrani and Carlo Tizzano.
The 26-year-old began his career playing rugby league and made his debut for Australia in 2024.
However, earlier this year, he changed disciplines, signing a two-year deal with Rugby Australia and joining the Western Force.
It means he will be available for selection for the Wallabies at next year’s Rugby World Cup, which will be hosted in Australia.
