Emergency services working to free elderly woman trapped in wreckage following Mt Lindesay road crash

Emergency services are working to free an elderly woman after a collision with an RV on Denmark-Mt Barker Road left her trapped in her vehicle. An emergency call was made about 1.20pm on Monday when a small car and an RV collided on Denmark-Mt Barker Road near Mt Lindesay, in the shire of Denmark. A St John WA spokesperson said multiple ambulance crews were on the scene, with two people managing to escape the wreckage without injury. The spokesperson said the pair were already out of their vehicle when ambulance crews arrived. However, a woman in her 70s remained trapped in the wreckage at 2pm, with Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews from Denmark Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service on the scene working to free her. The St John WA spokesperson said the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, but noted the RAC Rescue helicopter would possibly be sent to transport her to a medical centre once she was free.
