
A 20-year-old man has been injured and his Mercedes destroyed after it struck a tree and exploded into flames.
The man was in a white Mercedes Benz 205 convertible on McLaughlan Road in Hope Valley when, near the intersection of Anketell Road in when it left the road and hit a tree at about 7.50pm.
The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames, with the man making a quick escape before the car became completely engulfed.

DFES attended and extinguished the fire and St John Ambulance took the man to Royal Perth Hospital.

Sign upHis injuries were not life-threatening, a St John Ambulance spokesperson said.
Members of the public who saw the crash or the Mercedes Benz in the area before the crash should contact Crime Stoppers. Reports can be made anonymously.
