Residents told to monitor conditions as blaze burns close to homes in Yanchep

Perth’s bushfire summer has continued as residents in Yanchep have been issued a bushfire advice warning on Thursday afternoon.
Residents in the area between Yanchep Beach Road, Marmion Avenue, Brazier Road, and Flagtail Outlook in the northern Perth suburb have been told to monitor conditions as there is a bushfire burning to the west of Marmion Avenue, in an alert issued at 2.36pm.
Lagoon Drive between Primary Road and Flagtail Outlook, St Ives Drive, and Newlyn Place, have been reopened after a previous closure.
There is no current threat to lives and homes, and the fire has now been contained and controlled.
Firefighters are now mopping up the scene.

WHAT TO DO
- The threat of the fire has reduced however you should take care in the area.
- Stay alert for potential dangers such as smoke and fallen trees and power poles.
- If you do not have a plan, make one now on Emergency WA, or in the Emergency WA app to stay safe in future emergencies.
- Be aware of emergency services and other support personnel working in the area.
