First State Country Tennis Academy Plate Final victory for Katanning’s St Patrick’s students in 20 years

Primary school students from Katanning have claimed an impressive win in the State Country Tennis Academy Plate Final held in Perth last month.

The State Tennis Centre hosted winning teams from five regional WA zones on Friday, March 31.

Nine schools participated in the finals with St Patrick’s School victorious after an undefeated day.

It was the first win in the event in 20 years for St Patrick’s.

York District High School finished as runner-ups, Bunbury Cathedral Grammar claimed third place and Narrogin Primary School were fourth in the finals.

Other schools competing included Wickepin Primary School, Beverley District High School, Kojonup District High School, Kulin District High School and Corrigin District High School.

Players were congratulated for their excellent sportsmanship and pride while representing their respective schools.

Participating schools thanked Tennis West staff, Radu Vaidean, Braden Penny and Terrence Tui for running a very successful event.
