KNA 2024: Teams brace for finals fever as rising stars selected in Great Southern Development Academy

The Katanning Netball Association heated up in the penultimate round of the regular season as teams refined their game styles and braced for finals fever.
The kids had a chilly morning on the court with winter setting in hard over the weekend but it did not stop the adrenaline from building for these games.
GO kids are sailing through their games with all their skills showing in every quarter.
These kids have come such a long way this season with many venturing off to the higher junior division next year setting up a very interesting season ahead.
Juniors have created a high competition ahead for finals.
With the top three spots almost locked in for finals, the fourth position will be a fight in the last round.

The junior competition has many girls coming and going at the end of this season and most that are leaving will be venturing into the seniors competition.
Many who are coming into juniors are ready to take on the new beginnings of higher-level netball and cannot wait.
This year KNA were lucky enough to have Lara Rodney, Leah Edwards, Billie-Jo French and Addison O’Neill all selected for the Great Southern Development Academy.
KNA development officer Kelly Holzknecht has also been selected as a part of the coaching group for the under-14s squad team.
Brittany Hanna, player and umpire for KNA has recently been selected for the Fever In Time umpiring squad.
The seniors competition on Saturday had some teams push harder than others but there still could be a major shuffle in teams making finals.
The second-last round proved to be anyone’s game at the end of the day.
A1 had a home derby for Kojonup with a midweek game as Kojonup 1 and Kojonup 2 battled it out.
With an always fun-filled, yet highly contested game, Kojonup 1 had the goods in the bag when it came to goals, winning 72-29.
Cardinals Force and Olympians 1 gave the crowd a nail-biter.
With players pushing every minute of the game, it all came down to the last minute, but it was the Olympians who held on for a 39-38 win.
Allstars 1 and Te Taitonga 1 had a very close first half.

However, Allstars 1 changed gears and pumped in the goals with ease after the break, winning the game 58-30.
In A2, Dumbleyung came back and snagged a win keeping them in the top four against Cardinals Fever.
A friendly game throughout, it was Dumbleyung with 50 to Cardies’ 31.
Allstars 2 kept the rhythm in their club going, battling it out against Te Taitonga 2 and taking the win.
It was close all the way through but Allstars 2 had a boost of goals in the last quarter finishing 53-39 victors.
Broomehill came in hard and heavy against Olympians 2.

Broomehill showed no sign of slowing down to take yet another win with a whopping 66-14 triumph.
A3 had Kojonup 3 and Kojonup 4 hold a derby game at home with the A1s.
Kojonup 3 took the win against their sister team, 53-11.
Cardinals Phoenix edged out Te Taitonga 3 46-41.
