Nipped in the bud: Man charged after 8.6kg of cannabis seized from Katanning house

Katanning man Craig Robert Dale has been charged after twenty plants and 8.624kg of cannabis were allegedly found by Katanning Police on May 2. Executing a search warrant issued under the misuse of drugs act, police allegedly uncovered a sophisticated set-up in a drug bust at the man’s house. Cannabis plants were found in a well-equipped room complete with a sound-dampening device, carbon air filters, timber-boarded windows, three fans, and four large grow lights attached to the ceilings. The 54-year-old faces two charges of possessing drug paraphernalia, one charge of possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell/supply, and one charge of cultivating a prohibited drug with intent to sell/supply. Katanning Police have notified the Proceeds of Crime squad for the seizure of the cannabis and the plants. The man has been released on bail and appeared in Katanning Magistrate’s Court on May 9.
