A 28-year-old man was killed instantly when the car he was driving and a truck collided in Highbury, near Wagin, late yesterday afternoon.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them piece together what led to the fatal crash.

About 4.20pm yesterday, a Holden Commodore was travelling north along Scott Street in Highbury when the driver lost control, crossing onto the wrong side of the road into the path of an Isuzu truck carrying cattle.

The driver of the Commodore was killed instantly in the collision and the truck driver suffered minor injuries and shock.

Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service firefighters from Narrogin and Wagin assisted St John Ambulance paramedics at the scene.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or saw either vehicle prior to the crash.
