New Telstra tower built in Wagin to offer 5G coverage and help meet ‘mobile traffic demand’

Telstra has boosted its mobile phone connectivity and is now offering 5G coverage in Wagin to help meet “mobile traffic demands” by constructing a new station. The 30m-high mobile base station will enable service users to use 4GX and 5G in the Wagin area. “We know residents living in and around Wagin have been looking forward to this new mobile site, and I’m pleased to say we’ve been able to bring this site on-air,” Telstra WA regional general manager Boyd Brown said. “Telstra understands how important access to connectivity is in regional communities is and the huge benefits and opportunities it can provide for Australians.” The new station is expected to help with additional mobile traffic demands from events such as Wagin Woolorama, according to Mr Brown. “This new site also shows Telstra’s commitment to delivering vital infrastructure and upgrades to boost connectivity in the Wheatbelt,” he said. “It’s also really exciting to roll out 5G connectivity for the first time, meaning customers with Telstra 5G mobile devices can now enjoy a better mobile experience. “For customers wishing to access 5G on the Telstra network, they will need a 5G capable device and have a Telstra 5G phone plan, so for some people, that may mean upgrading their current device.”
