Knitters add colour to Katanning
A mystery group of creative souls have perked up Katanning's main street.
Commuters would have noticed something different about the Chinese Elm Trees recently planted along Clive Street, each one sporting tree cardigans.
The trees appeared with their cardigans last Thursday morning.
A note left on each of the pieces said Kosy Komfort by Katanning Knifty Knitters. Commonly known as yarn bombing, it is a practice seen globally where public areas and equipment are covered with knitted or crocheted works.
One of the knifty knitters contacted Great Southern Herald to explain.
"It's a group of ladies in town who are sick and tired of the negativity about Katanning and they just want to give everyone a laugh," she said.
Keep an eye out because there are rumours they will strike again in the near future.
