How fatherhood changed Dockers defender

Fremantle defender Brennan Cox credits fatherhood with making him a better footballer as he prepares to face Adelaide’s Riley Thilthorpe on Friday night.

Cox made a successful return to the Dockers’ side in last weekend’s victory against Richmond after a calf injury interrupted his start to the year.

The 27-year-old was coming off a stellar 2025 when he played all 24 games for the Dockers, finishing sixth in the Doig Medal after a serious hamstring injury had restricted him to only nine matches the year before.

Cox said being a father to his son Arlo — who turned two on Tuesday — helped him handle the rollercoaster that comes with being an AFL star.

Read the full interview with Cox here.
