Katanning is set to receive a share of $9.6 million in funding as part of the WA Bicycle Network Grants Program, obtaining $10,000 to develop a new local bike plan.

The money is to fund the planning, design and development of transport infrastructure to support people of all ages and abilities in their daily journeys.

By developing and creating a local bike plan, Katanning moves forwards to a more sustainable and safe future as intended for the grant program.

“The funding to develop a local bike plan is welcomed by the Katanning community, and will help to identify potential bicycle paths in the future to allow locals to have accessible infrastructure to keep them connected,” said Shelley Payne, MLC.

The funding is included in the State Government budget 2022-2023 which includes $347 million in grants over four years to provide and support cycling and walking infrastructure for West Australians.
